    Hello Charles,

Today I was working in the onion/leek veg patch, when I came across a very soft patch of soil which seemed to be moving on its own. When I disturbed it, there was a heaving mass of brown maggots about an inch long ( not caterpillars) hundreds of them. I have never seen anything like this before. Can you throw any light on just what they may be. I have shovelled them up and got rid of them. This seems very late in the year to find maggots.

    Thank you,

    Anne

I wonder Anne, is there a food source you can see for these magghots? I would not worry about them but it sounds fruity! It is late indeed but I guess the warmth has encouraged them.
