I’m generally with Stringfellow my plot is quite dry on sandy soil and except the greenhouse I water a couple of times while they get established then they are largely on their own, the exception would be runner beans and peas which may get a couple of watering cans full once or twice a week if it is very dry.
We are not allowed a sprinkler and I simply don’t have time to spend watering most weeks.
