Bex, you have my sympathies. I have suffered similar damage in the past on my courgettes. Two years ago I planted 15 squash plants in a block with my sweetcorn. A few days later when I re-visited my plot every single squash plant had disappeared, leaving only the sweetcorn. I can only guess that the slugs had munched them. This year I’m growing my squashes on a bit at home before planting them out.
