Thank you Charles for your quick reply, we really appreciate it. It’s heartening to know that we are not alone, but we’re sorry to hear about your plants too. It was all going so well…. We have a few endives and chicories in already so we’ll have to keep diluting them with spinach/chard/rocket for as long as we can. In your experience will those affected beds be ok for lettuces in the spring? Would i be correct in thinking it’s always summer invasion and not overwintered? we might try some mesh for our seedling outdoor winter lettuces in fresh beds. And next year we’ll get the endives on earlier to fill the gap! Thank you again, Loretta and George
