Thanks Rhys and to clarity, I sow two days after as comparison only, I don’t reckon it a favourable time to sow.
Your question is fair and I don’t understand the discrepancies between root-flower-leaf-fruit, and waxing-waning.
Maria Thun and Nick Kollerstrom make more of the former and little of the latter.
Whereas older farmers I have know look at waxing-waning and also ascending-descending. So there is a third aspect!! In France I was advised in no uncertain terms to prune vines on a descending moon, and they knew nothing of fruit days which as far as I can see were (recently) discovered by Maria Thun.
Its nice when they coincide e.g. sow tomatoes on 21st as you mention.
And last year my March carrot sowing favoured the root day.
But each year the results are variable and other factors are involved as well as the moon changes.

I once did an experiment with some seeds while I was still working. A co worker said nothing germinated for her. So we did an experiment with some tomatoes. I provided the seeds one packet, and the potting compost, and the plastic cups came from the coffee machine. And yes all my seeds germinated and none of hers. So I potting on the results and gave half to her and yes! mine thrived and hers died. The only different was she was about one floor higher than me. (from Neil, thanks)
