Couldn’t agree with you more on science. A poor choice of words in this instance. I should perhaps have said factual evidence, I believe there is more art involved in gardening then science.
The hatching times are of course weather dependant and we can all see how irratic/unpredictable our weather is becoming. As for them finding holes, I think the buggers have Radar!
