Thanks Charles, I think I will try mowing one bit, then covering later and covering another with polythene to do a comparison.

Valmai, nettles make a very tasty spinach substitute (cooked) and delicious soup. I collect lots of them in Spring and freeze them. Only use young leaves as they start to grow, older leaves after flowering, have cystoliths that can cause kidney damage.
