Hi Charles,
I have just got my allotment, which has lots of mares tail. I was hoping to cover half of the allotment with card board and compost, then plant straight away. While I was going to place a 2 inch layer of Manure on the other half, cover with black polythene and plant different squashes through holes in the polythene.
Would that be sufficient to suppress/get rid of the mares tail, and would this method work?
