I would proceed as Dalesman describes. Might recommend that you remove excessive sticky tape as it will not breakdown.Also look out for those wicked copper coated staples so beloved by carton makers, they will rust away but are capable of serious puncture wounds!.Personally, I try to soak all card in a polysack of water prior to tearing to hand sized pieces, its so much easier.
Again, no concerns here regarding ink; its water- based these days.Glossy card is not used here.
