By growing different varieties you have crops maturing at different times, thats one achievement. The F1 variety, by definition, will tend to produce a uniform crop all at once, which could be seen as both a pro and a con. Having all the crop ripened before frost enables you to freeze in one go, while enjoying some fresh. Well done.
