no dig potatoes

 I find the extra compost is great for tubers to swell in, at the same time as plants send their feeding and water roots down into the undug soil below. Yields of first earlies on my experiment are quite similar between dug and undug soil, with the same ingredients, so I would not dig the soil, and at harvest time they should pull out, perhaps with a little help from a trowel.
