My view is that all fungi have a useful role, either in breaking down woody materials as in compost heaps (sorry, bed sides too!) and as mycorrhizal root extensions. Some mushroom researchers wonder if cup fungi may play a mycorrhizal role.
If they are in the way I would cut them off, up to you whether you pull them out, I don’t think they are poisonous, and may be helping plant growth.
