Hi I thought that you may be interested to know that I have just dug these potatoes as the location was clearly a bit too exposed and the foliage was damaged by frost then became (another) slug magnet, final straw was somthing (badger?) starting the diging for me. At no point have they show any signs of damage by blight and have infact produced a better crop per seed potato than my main crop. I assume that is becasue we have had plenty of rain in the last couple of months and being on sandy soil the earlier crop didnt get enough water during early summer?
from 5 seed potatoes I have just dug 51/2 lb. With the price of potatoes rising by the day I think that is not a bad investment! Having not really burried them as such they were really easy to dig, so will try that agian with the main crop next year.
