I’d be interested in knowing if anyone has grown this, and with what success. I’m always keen to plant perennials but given that they reputedly require 1 sq. metre spacing, i’m weighing up the real estate vs output question.

    TIA

Nice phrasing Di, a big rent toll!
I have not succeeded in a great “perennial result”. Yes they survived to crop again a year later, but with a smaller crop, for a whole year of growing. Plus looking after, pruning and tidying and pigeon protection. Perennial does not mean no work.
Compare to purple sprouting whose crop begins 7-9 months after sowing and is in my experience more abundant.

Thanks for the evaluation, Charles. I’ll be guided by your advice.

I fell for the description of 5 tennis ball sized cauliflowers a year – perfect for me on my own.
Nothing the first year, and then, a smack my forehead “DOH” moment when all 5 came at once. Then it died.
