After winter salads

Hello

I had a go at some winter salad that have started to really grow now but given that I’ve had one small cropping last week for around 6-7 months of growth and for what’s left (probably a few more small cropping a from a small square bed) I’m now wondering whether you’d recommend alternatives to winter salad? Also, what do you grow after the winter salads?

Winter salad is best grown with some protection.
Grow anything you like afterwards, there is no formula.

I had a fleece protecting them over winter and during frosts since but at the time i was using a dome shaped hoop system and the fleece over that and inside started looking a bit, well manky.

Not sure where you are based, we are in south wales and I had Greek and land cress, Chervil and frizzy mustard outside they were doing great without any protection, then the rabbits attacked!!! Interestingly the Rabbits did not touch the Land cress, they loved the mustard and chervil and Greek cress though. The land cress is growing fast now and looks healthy. We have manged to get something to eat from it all winter, I would recommend land cress to over winter and I see that Charles grows this as well. GOOD LUCK
