Dear Charles
I read in your book that you suggest planting asparagus in blocks. How wide should the bed be for a double or triple row?
Would the centre of a triple row be too hard to reach from the sides?Many thanks in advance
By a block, I meant having shorter rows beside each other, rather than on long row.
Plant rows about 30in/75cm apart and crowns 18-24in/45-60cm.
It looks wide when you start but not by year 4 and onwards.What would the benefit of shorter rows be – is there a link to the original thread?
