Yet another new no-dig bed, started a few weeks ago with cow manure and compost and covered with permeable weed membrane. I took a sneaky peek under the membrane today and there are patches of something dark beige on the surface of the bed. It’s quite dry and fine-textured and seems to be some sort of mould, perhaps? Is this a problem or will it sort itself out in a few months of being left alone?
Suasage, moulds from fungi are good, part of organic matter decomposing, be happy.
Over time it will disappear, others may appear. They don’t harm plants.
