Bolting broccoli

My green sprouting broccoli is bolting! I’m so disappointed, it was sown early in February, grew really well in my cold frame, I was actually quite proud of all my healthy brassicas, I planted them all out early April. What could go wrong? Could it be the heat wave? We’ve now had 4 really hot days, would that be enough to ruin them?

Stenat that is frustrating. What variety/type of broccoli is it?

It’s calabrese ‘green sprouting’, I have another sowing not quite ready to plant out but I wonder if there’s a point now. Would you recommend different variety? Thank you

I reckon that may be faulty seed, an old variety that has not been well selected when seed is being reproduced.

Most investment by breeders and seed companies is into F1 hybrids, so they are reliable at least, try Parthenon or Marathon for example.
