    Hello Charles

I have trays of brassica seedlings sown several weeks ago. I had planned putting them in the ground earlier but never got round to doing it due to the inclement weather. I have noticed that some seedlings failed to grow and have now wilting lower leaves and some discolouration of the larger leaves. Any idea what could be causing this?
I have attached photos for comparison of the healthy vs unhealthy ones.

Hi Allotmenteer, I don’t think your seedlings look too bad. If I were you I’d plant them out quite deep and cover with fleece and see how they get on… Better at least to give them a chance – may be that they just need more nutrients than they are getting in the trays?
    Good luck and happy allotmenteering!
    Ruth
