I have a whole bed of overwintered onions that are a good size but have recently bolted. I have pulled a few but notice that there is a mild attack of white rot at their base (no black sclerotia). Are they OK to eat provided I cut out any rotted areas?

That’s what I did three years ago and I did not get ill!
