I have noticed even when the celeriac seedlings were getting bigger in their modules that some have green stems and others have red stems. Is this normal or do you reckon that the seeds I bought are not consistent to the variety? 20th June 2016 at 4:11 am #34840 charlesModerator Those red stems do look like a different variety, which seed company? You definitely did not mix any sowings?! 20th June 2016 at 8:52 am #34846 KarenParticipant I only have used one seed packet from this German supplier that sells them in the garden center. I know I did sow a different variety only much much later and only planted out very recently. The photos I shot were from my 1st plantings and noticed too in another location that some of them are red-stemmed as well. Very very strange! I just might have to get my seeds for next year from perhaps a UK supplier. 21st June 2016 at 5:04 pm #34854 charlesModerator Bingenheim seeds (German supplier!) sell great Monarch and Mars celeriac that I use, very even growth. 22nd June 2016 at 6:56 am #34857 KarenParticipant That´s right! Completely forgot about them. Thanks Charles. Will order from them. I can only hope that these red-stemmed plants will also turn out to be celeriac. Fingers crossed.
