Cherry tree?

iI’m making a mini orchard on a part allotment plot where I used to keep my hens. I’d love to have a cherry tee – any suggestions? I’d particularly like a variety small enough to enable me to net it – the nearby cherry on our community orchard is so large that we harvest very little as the birds get the lot.

There are many good varieties, it sounds best for you to choose one on Pixy rootstock so it stays small, I quite agree that otherwise its impossible to protect them from birds.

Goodness, that was quick! Thanks Charles, I’ll start researching. I assume I.d be best to delay planing until the autumn?

You could plant now if its a container tree and you can water it twice a week for a month or so…
