Hello Wrinkly, interesting comment.
I know of no evidence that lime and cow manure are adversarial, I know they are sometimes applied together.
However in my opinion adding lime every year is not good for soil, I would stop using it.
Contrary to what is sometimes claimed, using manure (composted so a year old or more) and other composts does not make soil acidic.
Maybe see if you can get some mushroom compost which contains some chalk and is higher pH.
But even the, its difficult to change soil pH. Making soil healthier with any compost has to be, for me, the best route to healthier plants.
