Hello I covered all my beds with newspaper and card in the spring with a few in of manure on top there are patches of couch coming through whic I keep pulling out. Will I eventually get rid of it or willI need to recover again in spring.
By the way I’vecovered the paths in memebrane and wood chip too.
Good that you are puling the couch, it is weakening. I have found that using a trowel to extract a bit more root has even more effect and in most of my couch-infested areas, which I mulched mainly with compost in late winter, there is almost no couch left, or it is extremely weak now. So do persist, you can be rid of it.
Have decide to fall in love with my Couch Grass, yes I’m doing all of the above, & my two prong implementation hoe is getting very shinney too!! Hopefully it decides to give up the ghost before I do, long enough for the beds to grow veges!!
