    Hello Charles,

Is it okay to cover leeks with fleece this time of year to protect from leek moth? I noticed fine mesh is quite expensive so I’m looking for a cheeper alternative if possible.

    Thanks, Gary

Fleece may be too hot in warm sunshine, also is more likely to tear and you need only one hole for a moth to cause damage. I think that mesh is worth the extra money as it lasts for so many years.

Thanks Charles. I found a inexpensive mesh at LBS Gardens (via winter veg. book) but the link on your website to diymatters.co.uk doesn’t work – thought I should let you know.
