Disease on trunk/bark of fruit trees

Hi Charles,

Inspired by your videos I took on my first allotment in January and I am loving it so much. There is something new to learn and discover everyday and it is such a joy. However, the bark of my fruit trees looks odd and is covered with a white sort of crust – is this a disease and of so, do you habe any tips on how to help my trees fight it? The attached photo shows one of my cherry trees.
