Do strawberries inhibit neighbouring lettuce growth?

I’ve noticed by chance that two of our pick and come again lettuce plants, which are now quite close to a strawberry plant which has it’s roots the other side of the path in between two beds, are growing significantly less well than all the rest.

This may of course be a fluke, but I wonder if anyone else has ever noticed anything similar and would therefore recommending keeping lettuces further away from any strawberry plants in the future??
