    Hi All

Please can anyone tell me if the have grown these beans, whether they are the same as broad beans. Do they taste the same and have the same growing requirements as broad beans.

    Kind regards

What we know as broad beans are called ‘fava" in the USA, and another confusion arises from fava being used to describe field beans which are harvested dry, and which botanically and are not quite the same as most garden, broad beans. Field beans are usually smaller podded, smaller beans on shorter plants. One example is the "Martock bean". Good to eat fresh and dry – less plump beans, more compact plant. Let us know if you grow some, how you like them to eat.
