Very opportunistic slug found attached to lettuce leaf 1hr after I took the overnight plastic covers/cloches off.
I take it as a sign that they have woken up and are now interested in destroying garden produce – no sign of them until now, so I guess the May slugfest is upon us.
We shall see, I guess……
Congratulations on finding only 1 slug. I spent hours on Monday evening slugging, (is what I call hunting for slugs with my scissors and lamp) they were all over, well basically, most things. And that was inside my slug fence around the vegetable plot where I also brought out nematodes twice last year. We have had a lot of rain here the last week, so guess they have just been waiting for their chance to come out and go on a rampage.
