I can’t believe it!
I made this 20cm surface application on top of grass with fresh cow manure (leaves bedding) a month and a half ago. Just wanted to make a garden for fall or next spring.

Planted one salad plant (poor module seedling it was) 14 days ago for the sake of experiment. A bit yucky work, but fairly easy with module seedling – i just troweled the manure to make a whole big enough for seedling and popped it in. It’s growing! I really wonder how it will go in times coming, when roots will grow. Maybe they won’t spread in fresh manure but in soil below only and thus not be burned?!

Anyway, i’m weeding out few emergin thistles and docks so the ground will be always clean. I’m also raking the top layer as it’s wheatering and i can brake some clumps already.

I think i will plant some hungry plants in it – experiment again! I do not want to make people confused! Please do not garden with fresh manure in this way if you want to be sure to grow sucsessful crops!
