Can you please tell me if there is any way of growing raspberries on my allotment as I have used mushroom copost within the last two years as I understand that raspberries cannot be grown on mushroom compost?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

I`ve never heard that one Lee. But I do know that raspberries are very easy to grow up here,(East Yorks), so I would give it a go.

I think it is because mushroom compost is rather alkaline, from chalk added, and this makes it harder for raspberries to obtain magnesium, resulting in yellow veined leaves. I have the same symptoms here as my pH is 7.4 and watering with Epsom Salts is a help. We still have plenty of raspberries!
