Charles, we have grown Uchi Kuri for the first time this year and would appreciate some advice on when to harvest. Most of the leaves have died off (as you can see from the photo) and we have read your advice that the neck should be dry before harvesting. Can you tell from the photo if ours are ready?

Whoops I need to revise the advice, as being one indicator, another is loss of leaves! So yes your squash are ripening no further there and want cutting.
Bring into warmth, even up to 30C to really dry them, for 10 days or so, then keep indoors until soup beckons.
