Hello everyone, i just started my garden and made 8 wide rows. My Soil base actually looks really good and was planning on getting compost today. i live in a farm town so it will be good quality cow manure compost. I was planning on adding 2-3 inches of compost to top layer of my rows and directly sow seeds into that.

Please give me advice if this is correct way. I did this last year and had really good results only issue was when seeds sprouted it seemed like compost might have been to hot because i had some early yellowing and then once established they looked green and healthy.

    please give me some feedback!
    Thank you!

I think you answered your own query. From what you report, the compost was not composted enough. There are several methods to use but the end result should be odourless, crumbly and dark.
