Herbicide Poisoning

Earlier this year I used farmyard manure that turned out to be contaminated with aminopyralid and I lost some crops. What should I do with the contaminated stuff?

If I scrape it off, what do I do with it?
Will the effects wear off? If so, how long will that take?
Can I grow anything else in it? I wondered about brassicas?
Or is there a way of disposing of it responsibly without contaminating anything else?

RHS advice is to dig it in in the autumn and the aminopyralid will be neutralised by spring. I’d try stacking it in a heap somewhere out of the way, sprinkling soil between the layers. Leave it at least a year and test it by planting a couple of spare tomato plants in the pile, if they are OK everything else should be.
It doesn’t affect grass so you could spread it over rough grass if you have any.

Thank you for the information, Tristan. It’s good to know it is possible to neutralise it safely at home. I do have a patch of rough ground that used to be a bonfire that I might try this out. Must say, I’m constantly astonished by the ability of Nature to repair our cock-ups and regenerate, given enough time.
