I want to try no dig

Hi to everyone.

I have an allotment with two tunnels and a garden at home with a greenhouse, I am grow mad and just love to grow our own fresh fruit and veg and this last couple of years I have been starting a journey into cut flowers. I grew cut flowers this year in an area 50ft x 13ft and I intend to double that this next year by growing smaller ammounts of flowers but many more varieties.

As it is an allotment I cannot sell produce so I plan to do this from my home garden, with the sole intention of recovering costs only or as much as I can. I am not trying to start a business or make a living from this in any way.

Now I have just recently come accross “no dig”, I have ordered a book from here this morning (winter veg) as I wish to try this for part of my fruit and veg production at my allotment. I have realised it will outstrip my curent budget quite sigificantly to layer 2 inches of compost onto beds so I need another avenue to collect revenue and I am considering salad bags grown in my home garden/greenhouse year round along with the cut flowers. I have seen nothing in the area of this sort of thing so I cannot guage the market for ammounts and prices and therefore if it is a viable thing for me to do.

Would someone please be kind enough to let me know weights of salad leaves sold and guide prices please.

I hate that my first post here is one begging for information, but I would really like to try no dig, I hope you can see my predicament.

I sell salad leaves (mixed) for £14-15/kg.
Most people buy 100g.
Enjoy no dig.

Thank you for the reply Charles, the smallish space I have at home would not I think provide the revenue I require. I’ll have to brainstorm another idea. I now understand why you mass grow lettuce!
