Ideal food for pepper plants??

I’m having a first go at growing sweet peppers this year, after having got the hang of tomatoes the past three years.

I’ve successfully got a Bendigo and a Bell Boy to about 20cm height in 15cm pots after about 2 months, obviously a lot smaller than my tomatoes of the same sowing date.

I thought I read somewhere that maybe Peppers required more nitrogen than tomatoes and to date, I’ve just been using John Innes formulas with the peppers.

Does anyone have any experience, either of an ideal compost to use or useful feeds for pepper plants??
