A bit of a long shot, but having seen one really well and not under cover at Stourhead, I ‘m tempted to try one on the new fruit patch I’m setting up on my allotment in Bath. I have a small shed and a space next to it that I plan to trellis over, and I am thinking about planting one to grow over them.
Has anyone tried this? Any comments about success or otherwise?

I had one in my back garden for about 5 years, grew well but never any sign of fruit, or even flowers but got to about 20 foot. I decided to pull it out and then someone told me that they have male and female plants. Not sure if this is still the case or if you can get self fertile ones too?

Anyway good luck if you give it a go.
