Hi, last year I grew n dig potatoes using straw ( they were fab ) after they were finished I just left the straw down as a mulch over the winter, but this year I want to grow no dig potatoes just with compost as a mulch because less snail and slugs hiding in the straw etc…..my question is what can I do with the old straw, can I put it in my compost bin?
    Thanks
    Emma

Yes Emma, it’s good to compost, already decomposing in fact.
It decomposes more quickly when added to some green materials e.g. weeds, coffee grounds, kitchen wastes.
