Hello,
I have moved to a new home and a new garden. Right now the builders are installing a wall and the garden is a mud bath. I intend to plant roses etc in the garden and will apply a good six inches of compost as soon as the hard landscaping is complete.
My dog loves to explore the garden, and then she comes indoors and treads mud all over the house. Here’s my question: Will a thick layer of compost attach to her paws in the same way as the mud, or would it be a good idea to add a layer of bark chips on top of the compost to keep her a bit cleaner?

Once the surface layer has weathered a little, after 2-3 days, the compost does not stick to boots or paws. It’s another of the fabulous qualities of no dig, commented on by many.
