Hi, I have some pruned late summer raspberry canes (about 6 inches from the ground) in a bed of buttercup weeds. I’d like to give them the classic treatment of 6 inches of compost and black plastic for a few months. my question is whether this will damage the pruned canes i.e rotting them or slowing their growth

    thanks steve
