My new allotment

Good evening all
I have recently taken over my new allotment plot and am in the process of clearing it.
I have been trying to do some reading up on sowing seeds and when is the correct time to do so.
I have found the sowing calendar on this website and I just wondered if I can just follow this exactly how it says or whether this changes each year depending on what the weather is doing?

I also use Maria Thun’s biodynamic calendar to help me decide which days to plant leaf, fruit, root and flower parts so that I don’t feel overwhelmed with too much to do and helps me organise which days to plant and sow which plant parts.

Also check out Charles´ book “How to create a new Vegetable Garden”… he has more details about sowing and growing and also successional sowings and plantings…only got this book recently and love it!

Thanks Karen and hello Ben.
Yes the weather always plays a part, my timings are a baseline and also they are based on the mild conditions of SW England. In N Britain I would sow a week or two later, but again it depends on your situation, shelter etc. Use the calendar as a framework, and make notes of your sowing dates, to build a pattern for years to come.
