is it worth planting onion sets into 9cm pots before planting them out, or should they go straight into the ground
Hi Ladbrokes
No major difference but I would wait another fortnight before planting outdoors to reduce risk of bolting, in case sets think they have been through winter (as in the cold nights at present) and are then in flowering season. You could plant in pots under cover, if you think it is worth the extra work and expense.
