I sowed Douce Provence peas last October and transplanted them into a small polytunnel when they were about 3 inches high. I can’t plant direct as mice make a meal of them. They are now over a foot high and have flowers on them. If frost is forecast should I cover them with fleece and hopefully get a very early crop or should I remove the flowers now and let the plants grow bigger. I presume they are so advanced because of the mild winter.
Well you have a nice problem. If temperatures stay at the levels we have had in December and January, you can look forward to peas in early April, I would take the risk; because if the flowers or baby peas are frosted, more flowers should develop.
