Pick and come again lettuce bolting………….

The first attempt at PACA lettuce worked well, however bolting is occurring on two strains (but not the red leaved strain).

Did we wait too long to start picking or is this par for the course?

I am sowing more this full moon for August onwards, but wonder about picking size to maximise length of harvest………….

Hard to say Rhys but it could be the varieties or the soil fertility or moisture levels…
some of my early Match sowings are going up a bit but all are still yielding well, for another fortnight mostly, photos to come in my July update. First pick when leaves just touch, 9 inch spacing.

It’s been incredibly dry so maybe that’s it. Planted and picked as you said: I’ll water more on the next lot and see what happens then……we still have 7 red ones so plenty of leaves for July…………..
