    Hello Charles

After having our 1st harvest of braeburn apples I would like to grow a cooking apple. I am leaning toward bountiful. I found a supplier online (orangepuppinfruittrees.co.uk) they have 2 options I’m looking at which are

    very small 1.5m – 2m after 5/10 yrs 1yr old bare root m27 £17.95
    Medium 2.2m -3m after 5/10 yrs 1yr old bare root m26 £17.45

I would appreciate any advice you can give on this matter

    Thanks in advance

Hi Ladbrokes, good that your dessert apples are cropping, for the Bountiful it depends how much space you have as M27 is a good idea if space is limited, because Bountiful is such a vigorous grower.

A good nursery for a cheaper option on M26 is http://www.walcotnursery.co.uk/sections/culinary-apples.html whose trees are organically grown and always, in my experience, strong growers with lots of healthy leaves. Their Bountiful on M26 is £15.

    Thanks for your thoughts

I’ve ordered a m26 bountiful from walcot and await delivery.
