hello, we will be transplanting raspberry canes from my family’s allotment in november. would the advice for planting them according to no-dig be any different from the standard?

i’m intending to – mattock out a clear row of ground (we are planting into pasture), dig a small hole for each cane, mulch the row thickly and widely with manure (and perhaps cardboard and rotting hay, depending on what we have available in nov).

or should we be doing the standard thing of digging in lots of compost/manure to a trench in advance?

Yes the no dig method works well and many recommendations for planting trees actually specify not enrighing soil too much around their roots, just mulch the surface.
