In a recent video an allotment holder was picking the flowers off his potatoes so that the plants energy was directed to producing tubers rather than the apple type fruits. I have never heard of this before. Is it a good thing to do and do you think it will make any difference to the size of tubers.
I have not heard of this but it makes sense if you have the time. Since the apples are small and few in number, I dount the difference would be massive.
It is a lovely season for potatoes now and little risk of blight, we can enjoy their growth!
