When is the earliest time to put potatoes under polythene.

Risk of frost is too strong now, I would plant say late Feb to early March depending where you are, see sowing timeline too

Is their one potatoe that grows better under polythene ,or are they all the same.
I grow Picaso.

Slasher I would not grow Picasso for super-early crops as its a maincrop therefore slower to mature.
Try any of Rocket, Arran Pilot, Red Duke of York, Lady Christl or, for fastest harvest, Swift. They are all First Earlies so they mature quickly and then stop growing.
