Q about Climbing Beans

Hi Charles
That video about side shooting tomatoes,cucumbers and aubergines was a very helpful one great to get it explained simply and clearly.

This is my first year growing climbing beans and am wondering is it done with these too. I have pinched out the tops when nearly reaching the top of the tunnel but now there is lots of shoots climbing out from down along the plant. I am getting harvests but its getting a bit wild.

Jus not sure should it have been done.

It’s a good question but there seems little advantage to side-shooting beans as the new shoots crop and bring renewed vigour, while the main stem has often run out of room above.
Certainly it’s worth cutting off any that are in the way or smothering nearby plants.

I am having trouble with white/grey mould from the old blossom landing on the leaves below and its starting to infect some beans from the blossom end now too.

Is this a common problem?

I am cutting off the infected leaves and beans but I am not sure what to do to prevent this.

Plants look healthy otherwise.

This happens in weather when the leaves are wet for long periods and it should be localised.
I see it sometimes and leave all alone, the damage does not spread.
