raised bed set up ?

Hi Charles and to everyone else 🙂

After having been inspired by your videos i’d like to ty the no dig approach. I am thinking of building some raised beds and im just wondering how I should fill them…..

Should it be filled entirely with manure?

Or should it be a mixture of manure, general compost and soil on top ? I have watched your videos with the small metre square raised bed straight onto the grass and i think you use the lease decomposed material at the bottom and then green waste, general compost and mushroom compost.

The other concern is how can I be sure when i pick up horse/cow manure that it doesn’t have been killer residue left in it ? I have read online there are problems with farmers feeding animals hayledge etc that’s been cut from a field which has had herbicides applied, very hard to trace it would seem….Any Advice ?
